About the role

The Assistant Director of Clinical Services  partners closely with the Director of Clinical Services to provide clinical leadership, guidance, and supervision of a team of mental health clinicians and peer support specialists. to promote positive outcomes and to enhance the overall functioning and well-being of individuals and families. The Assistant Director is responsible for programmatic oversight, mentoring and coaching staff, clinical supervision, performance management, record keeping and reporting, budget oversight, contract management, and on call responsibilities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hire, train, supervise, and schedule staff clinicians and peer support specialists.
• Review assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure clinical quality and compliance.
• Manage contract with external funding agency and oversee staff providing community-based mental health services for families.
• Work in close collaboration with funding agency, as well as a network of community-based organizations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences with the funding agency and other Catholic Charities clinical team members.
• Provide individual supervision to staff (at least monthly, often weekly) 
• Review clinical documentation and ensure it meets Catholic Charities and funding agency requirements, including biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and session notes.
• Meet regularly with the program team to discuss clinical and case management needs and provide organizational updates as needed (may provide direct services to a small caseload of clients/families).
• Collaborate with Director of Clinical Services and Senior Director for Family Services regarding budget and contractual obligations.
• Monitor work performance, provide feedback to employees and suggestions for improvement when necessary. Evaluate progress and goals throughout the year. Complete the annual performance appraisal for all direct report staff.
• On-call clinician responsibilities as needed.
• Responsible for the preparation and delivery of timely submission of reports to the funding agency.
• Review and approve employee timecards in accordance with organizational policy. 
• Work is performed in a general office setting and in community settings as needed.
• Local travel as needed to perform the functions of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Independent licensure (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT or equivalent) required. 
• Minimum of 3-5 years relevant program experience.
• Strong supervisory skills and at least 3 years of experience supervising in a human service environment.
• Experience with substance addiction and knowledge of community resources.
• Background in home-based counseling and case management services.
• Demonstrated ability working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
• Knowledge of working with program budgets and contracts.
• Experience working with the Department of Children and Families programming, assessment, service planning, and case review.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and remote communication platforms.
• A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation and insurance coverage. 
• Some evening and weekend availability as needed for on-call work or evening groups. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency in working with an Electronic Health Records system.
• Bilingual abilities.

The base pay range reflects what Catholic Charities reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time.  Actual compensation in this range may be determined based on other factors, including but not limited to work experience, education and specialty training.
