Electrical Design Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Overview

• Develop electrical test plans, checklists and inspection plans for aircraft applications.
• Prepare substantiation reports, test plans and test reports related to aircraft cabin safety.
• Support small STC/PMA projects involving electrical requirements and technical deliverables.
• Coordinate supplier data and responses to technical inquiries and significant airworthiness issues.
• Identify major design changes that affect aircraft electrical systems.
• Support certification and regulatory activities.
• Work with airline customers during troubleshooting, flight testing, laboratory testing and jig testing.
• Prepare technical presentations for project and customer meetings.
• Support coordination with DERs; DER experience is a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering , or related scientific field.
• 4 7 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD or DraftSight .
• Knowledge of aircraft processes and substantiation techniques.
• Understanding of Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• Familiarity with aircraft mechanical/structural design processes.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials, fabrication methods and hardware.
• Strong organization, communication and individual-contributor skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aircraft interiors experience.
• Electrical design engineering experience.
• Electrical substantiation engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of FAR regulations .
• Aircraft certification experience.
• STC/PMA project experience.
• DER coordination experience.
• Experience working directly with airline customers and aircraft testing teams.
