Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours per Week

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in a Long-Term Observation / Medical-Surgical Telemetry setting. The ideal candidate will have strong hospital experience, excellent telemetry interpretation skills, and current Epic proficiency. Candidates must be confident working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment, with minimal orientation or additional support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in an observation and Med-Surg Telemetry setting.

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry readings accurately.

• Assess patients, recognize changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly.

• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and established protocols.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic electronic health record system.

• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.

• Support patient education, discharge planning, and continuity of care.

• Float to other Med-Surg units, including Respiratory, Stroke, and Cardiac, and potentially the Emergency Department when appropriately qualified.

• Minimum of 3 years of recent/current hospital experience in Med-Surg Telemetry or Observation.

• Strong telemetry skills, including the ability to read telemetry/BCRA; competency testing will occur on the first day.

• Current Epic proficiency is mandatory. Refresher training and one-on-one support will not be provided.

• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required.

• Active Ohio RN license or accepted compact privilege.

• Willingness to float to other Med-Surg units as needed.

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and independent decision-making skills.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• 13-week contract assignment.

• Start date: November 16, 2026.

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM.

• 36 guaranteed hours per week.

• Every other weekend required.

• Holiday coverage required.

• Very rare call; pager or callback may apply.

• The facility may cancel up to 36 hours during the contract.

Important Submission Requirements

• Recent hospital experience and current Epic proficiency must be documented in the candidate referral.

• Only one submission per traveler, per agency, per specialty is permitted.

• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at submission and must match the facility confirmation.

• Candidates must be confident in telemetry competency and Epic use, as failure to meet either requirement may result in immediate termination.
