Business Development Assistant Retail Leasing

Position Overview

Meridian Capital Group is seeking a motivated and organized Business Development Assistant to join our Retail Leasing Division. This individual will work closely with a senior-level Broker and his team to support their business development efforts.

The primary focus of this role will be identifying potential prospects and conducting outreach on behalf of the Broker and his team. The position will involve a combination of market research, cold calling, emailing, and maintaining prospect information.

The ideal candidate is personable, organized, comfortable speaking with new people, and interested in learning about commercial real estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify potential retail leasing opportunities and help build prospect lists.
• Research properties, businesses, landlords, tenants, and other potential prospects using CoStar and other real estate databases.
• Conduct outbound calls and emails to prospective clients on behalf of the Broker and his team.
• Introduce the Broker and his team to prospective landlords, tenants, and other relevant contacts.
• Maintain accurate and organized prospect information and outreach activity.
• Assist with scheduling calls and meetings for the Broker and team.
• Monitor new listings, availabilities, lease expirations, and other market activity for potential opportunities.
• Work with the Broker and team to prioritize outreach and coordinate follow-up.
• Assist with other research and business development projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable making outbound calls
• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Strong follow-up skills.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other computer systems.
• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Previous real estate, sales, customer service, recruiting, or business development experience is a plus

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $50,000$70,000, with the potential opportunity to earn additional commissions.
