Plasma Center Nurse RN

About the role You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and the Center Physician for medical issues. Familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment is required, and the specialist follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs to provide EHS support. How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician's standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings that are not acceptable to donors or for guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support employee vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and seasonal flu) as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, referencing EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as per EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Successful completion of FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation and Benefits U.S. hourly wage range: $33.44 - $45.98. Actual wage depends on qualifications, experience, and skills.
