Plasma Center Nurse - EMT

About the Role You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. The Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. Familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry and a manufacturing environment is required. The Specialist follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS). How You Will Contribute Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings that require guidance on donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate‑equivalent recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of the FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation and Benefits Location: USA – GA – Morrow Hourly wage range: $22.80 – $31.35. The actual wage offered may vary based on qualifications, experience, and other factors.
