Key Responsibilities * Operate CNC lathes (turning centers) * Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings * Load raw materials and monitor machining processes * Adjust machine offsets, tooling, and speeds for optimal performance * Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using measuring tools * Maintain tight tolerances (often within ±0.002 inches or better) * Change inserts, tooling, and fixtures as needed * Troubleshoot machining issues (tool wear, chatter, dimensional errors) * Keep machines clean and follow preventive maintenance procedures * Document production runs and quality checks ⚙️ Common Machines & Tools * CNC turning centers (2-axis, multi-axis, live tooling) * Controls like Fanuc, Haas, Mazak * Measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators * Tooling: inserts, boring bars, drills, reamers ???? Required Skills * Strong understanding of CNC turning principles * Ability to read and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) * Knowledge of feeds, speeds, and cutting material * Blueprint reading and math skills (trigonometry often helpful) * Attention to detail and quality control ????
