Job Description
(or Powder Coat Operator ) applies a durable, dry protective powder finish to materials like metal or steel. Responsible for preparing surfaces, loading and racking parts on a conveyor, utilizing electrostatic spray equipment, curing the applied coating in a heat oven, and conducting quality control inspections. Key Duties and Responsibilities
The core functions of a powder coating job span several distinct stages of the manufacturing and finishing process: [1, 2]
- Surface Preparation: Clean, sandblast, or degrease parts to ensure proper powder adhesion. This involves masking off areas that should not be coated and racking or hanging the parts. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Equipment Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate manual or automated electrostatic spray guns and powder booths. [1, 2]
