Nutritionist I (Specialist Officer II) - Non-Merit

Regular Schedule: 34 hours per week. Examples of Duties Plans, implements, conducts, and evaluates programs providing various nutrition services such as nutrition assessment, counseling, and education. Supervises subordinate staff. Develops and implements the nutrition education component of public health programs. Conducts studies of local nutritional needs and resources. Provides advice, consultation, and guidance to human service providers, community organizations, and individuals regarding nutrition. Researches, prepares, and presents reports on nutrition and related health topics. Researches and responds to requests and inquiries from the public and staff. Assists in developing grant proposals and justifications. Prepares and administers program budgets. May perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in nutrition, nutrition education, dietetics, or a related field. At least three years' professional experience in human nutrition or dietetics (education beyond a bachelor's degree may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis). Current registration as a Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association and licensure as a Nutritionist by the Maryland Board of Dietetic Practice. Valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial, Class C Maryland driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Supervisory experience with professional and support staff.
