Company Description Sag Harbor Union Free School District is a public school district located on the east end of Long Island in New York State. The district serves students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, offering a comprehensive K–12 educational experience. Sag Harbor Elementary School supports learners in Pre-K through grade 5, while Pierson Middle/High School serves students in grades 6 through 12. The district is dedicated to providing a supportive learning environment and strong academic programs for all students.
Role Description This is a full-time remote Help Desk Specialist role supporting the technology needs of Sag Harbor UFSD’s staff and students. The Help Desk Specialist will respond to and resolve help desk tickets, provide technical support via phone, email, and remote tools, and assist users with software, hardware, and network issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting desktop computer problems, guiding users through solutions, and escalating complex issues when necessary. The role will also involve documenting incidents, maintaining accurate records of support activities, and contributing to user training and knowledge base materials. Collaboration with the IT team to improve support processes and ensure reliable technology services for the district is expected.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Technical Support and Help Desk Support skills, including experience with remote assistance tools.
- Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills for software, hardware, and basic network issues.
- Candidates should possess experience supporting Desktop Computers across common operating systems and applications.
- Candidates should possess effective Customer Support skills, with a focus on clear communication and user-friendly service.
- Relevant experience in an educational or public sector environment is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple requests in a remote setting.
- Ability to work independently, follow documented procedures, and collaborate with IT colleagues.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL) are a plus.
