About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Development to lead and expand its fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes individual donors, institutional funders, and corporate sponsorships. This role requires a strategic vision for fundraising that aligns with the organization's mission, as well as the ability to cultivate and steward relationships with a diverse set of national and local foundations and corporations. The VP of Development will also be tasked with overseeing a development team, collaborating with senior leadership, and ensuring that all fundraising activities are in line with the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates for the VP of Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 8-10 years' of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record in individual, foundation, and corporate giving. The ideal candidate will have strong connections within the environmental movement, be highly networked and recognized in the field, and possess the ability to engage key stakeholders. They must demonstrate exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills, and be adept at integrating high-level strategy with hands-on execution. A deep passion for the organization's mission and a commitment to representing it with enthusiasm and professionalism are essential. The role also requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and be open to travel as necessary.
