U.S. Water Services Corporation is a well-established and diverse water and wastewater utility organization specializing in utility maintenance, operations, engineering, and construction services. U.S. Water is a fast-paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida, with operations across multiple states.Position SummaryThe Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of electrical equipment and systems associated with wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, and related utility facilities. This position performs electrical work on motors, pumps, control panels, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, instrumentation, lighting, generators, and other electrical systems.The Electrician will work closely with plant operators, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and management to ensure electrical systems and treatment equipment operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical systems and equipment at wastewater treatment plants and lift stations.Troubleshoot electrical problems involving pumps, motors, blowers, mixers, aeration equipment, compressors, and other treatment equipment.Inspect, test, and maintain electrical panels, motor control centers (MCCs), disconnects, breakers, transformers, and control systems.Diagnose electrical issues using meters, electrical testing equipment, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's documentation.Install and maintain conduit, wiring, junction boxes, disconnects, panels, and electrical components.Troubleshoot and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs), soft starters, motor starters, relays, contactors, and overload protection.Assist with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation and process control equipment.Work with SCADA systems, PLCs, control panels, and automated treatment processes.Troubleshoot electrical components associated with lift stations, including pumps, floats, level sensors, control panels, and telemetry equipment.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment.Inspect electrical equipment for signs of wear, damage, overheating, corrosion, or unsafe conditions.Perform electrical testing and verify proper operation following repairs or installations.Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment deficiencies.Assist with generator, automatic transfer switch, and emergency power system maintenance and troubleshooting.Respond to electrical emergencies and equipment failures as needed.Ensure all electrical work is performed in accordance with applicable electrical codes, OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and company policies.Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other required safety practices.Work in wet, dirty, confined, outdoor, and potentially hazardous environments associated with wastewater treatment facilities.Coordinate with operations and maintenance staff to minimize equipment downtime and disruptions to treatment operations.Operate tools, testing equipment, vehicles, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties.Maintain a clean and safe work area.Perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Electrical experience in an industrial, commercial, utility, wastewater, water treatment, or similar environment.Knowledge of electrical systems, motors, pumps, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.Working knowledge of electrical safety practices and OSHA requirements.Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools.Ability to work independently and troubleshoot electrical problems with minimal supervision.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.Preferred QualificationsElectrical license or certification preferred.Experience working in a wastewater or water treatment facility.Experience troubleshooting pumps, motors, blowers, VFDs, MCCs, and motor starters.Experience with PLCs and SCADA systems.Experience with instrumentation and process control systems.Experience with generators and emergency power systems.Experience with 480V three-phase electrical systems.Industrial electrical or controls experience.OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.Confined Space Entry certification or experience.CPR/First Aid certification.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and three-phase power.Knowledge of motors, motor controls, starters, VFDs, relays, and control circuits.Ability to understand electrical schematics and control logic.Ability to safely work around energized and de-energized electrical equipment.Ability to work effectively with plant operators, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and contractors.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.Ability to prioritize work and respond to emergency maintenance needs.Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and outdoor environments.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop, and work in awkward positions for extended periods.Ability to work around wastewater, chemicals, noise, odors, and wet or humid conditions.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to safely climb ladders and stairs and work from elevated platforms.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Candidate will be on standby as needed and be able to work in all weather conditions. Compensation and Benefits: Pay is commensurate with experience and
