THERAPEUTIC COURTS PROGRAM MANAGER

Overview Plan, organize, and coordinate the development, implementation, and ongoing operation of the Therapeutic Court Programs in Mason County Superior Court. Dependent on the task, will work as a member of a team or independently. Work within the community to build resources and educate providers and other entities regarding therapeutic court(s). Any one position may not include all the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions of this class. Responsibilities Responsible for management of Therapeutic Court programs, including the Adult Felony Drug Court, Veterans Court, Family Recovery Court, and Mental Health Court. Professional level planning, administration, monitoring, and evaluation of all functions of these programs. Responsible for assigning, training, supervising, and evaluating the work performance of assigned staff. Coordination of treatment court activities with designated judicial officers, attorneys, criminal justice officials, treatment professionals, County officials, and the community. Coordinate, schedule, and oversee activities within each of the therapeutic courts to ensure efficient and effective program operation in compliance with department goals and legal requirements; coordinate work with multiple treatment providers to ensure the timely submission of required reports. Research and prepare program literature such as pamphlets, manuals, forms, handbooks, and procedures for each of the therapeutic courts. Research and prepare applications for federal, state, and local grant funding opportunities and funding from other sources; ensure compliance with grant requirements; prepare required reports. Conduct research related to programs, best practices and training in therapeutic courts. Coordinate and facilitate training and professional development of team members and events such as graduation ceremonies. Serve as an active member of the Therapeutic Court team(s) and work closely with the judicial officer(s) to ensure policies are followed, participants’ needs are addressed, and program standards are met; conduct participant program orientation and exit interviews; assist with skills training for participants; and collaborate with treatment providers to ensure community resources and service needs match desired program outcome. Resolve sensitive or complex inquiries or service complaints. Oversee the collection and recording of participant treatment compliance, and criminal history data; maintain database and records to document and monitor caseloads, client demographics, compliance and program results. Prepare, organize, and implement program budget, record keeping and statistical information; monitor contracted service provider requirements and expenditures. Confer with various boards, officials and professionals on status of participants, conduct home visits. Network with community agencies and develop relationships with stakeholders throughout the community through speaking engagements, participation on various committees and boards, and utilizing media resources. Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge Substance use treatment services, Veteran services and mental health services in Mason County and Washington State. Prioritize and work independently. Plan, direct and evaluate the work of subordinates. Other Job Duties May be required to obtain additional education as required to conduct business functions. Qualifications (Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job may be considered.) Associate’s degree in legal, criminal justice, or related field. Two (2) years’ experience in a court environment involving case assessment, case management, interviewing, social service delivery.
