Gear Cut & Grind A - 1st Shift MTC

Set up and operate all types of gear manufacturing equipment including gear cutters, gear grinders, gear shavers, lapping machines, etc., to produce a wide variety of gears and splines including spiral bevel, helical and hypoid gears. Set-ups and work must be held to extremely close tolerances. Advises and assists in development of new gears and gears cutting processes. Tests and checks gears using gear testing and checking machines and equipment. Sets up and/or performs all grinding on case hardened surfaces. Tools & Equipment Used: All types of gear manufacturing, testing, and checking equipment, machinists' hand tools, precision measuring instruments.

Experience & Other Requirements: Three years' experience as a Gear Cutter and Grinder plus two (2) years of related experience.
