2026-27 High School Building & Construction CTE Teachers

Overview Green Dot is seeking Building and Construction CTE Teachers to develop construction skills and coordinate work placements for high school students. The ideal candidate will foster apprenticeship‑ready learning outcomes, prepare students for career‑ready skills such as interviewing and asking the right questions, and cultivate the technical skills needed to thrive in the industry. High‑quality instruction, supported by a collaborative curriculum, engages each student, promotes self‑confidence, and provides a foundation for future success. Responsibilities Exhibit and uphold Green Dot core values. Create a culture of learning in your classroom. Teach construction technology and safety skills and instill entrepreneurial attitudes in students. Work with industry partners to establish, coordinate, and monitor students in regular workplace assignments. Seek out and apply cutting‑edge construction resources to the instructional setting. Build active and visible links to the construction industry to produce internships, externships, and jobs for students. Apply practical knowledge of construction instruction to prepare and insert students into the industry. Engage in data‑driven planning and assessment of student learning. Establish a culture of respect and rapport with students that supports their emotional safety. Facilitate rigorous learning by delivering cognitively engaging lessons that incorporate instructional methodologies. Engage in critical reflection, constantly revising practice to increase effectiveness. Participate in a professional community across your school site and the Green Dot network. Develop partnerships within the community by communicating with families and bringing resources that support student success in college, leadership, and life. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required). Valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential, Building Trades and Construction, or appropriate industry work experience to qualify for a CTE Credential. At least 3 years of construction industry experience. Prior teaching or mentoring experience (preferred). Licensed contractor (preferred). Strong content knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and the capacity to plan and deliver instruction to meet student needs. Relentless commitment to high standards for high‑quality execution. Will need to pass a TB test and background check at the time of offer. Credential & Licensing Requirements California‑based educators must possess (or will possess by July2026) a valid California Career Technical Education (CTE) credential, or a valid California Preliminary or Clear Single Subject or Multiple Subject credential. Multiple Subject Intern credential holders cannot be hired for these positions. Out‑of‑state or non‑credentialed applicants should assess teaching eligibility through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Compensation Credentialed teachers receive a salary range of $71,085 to $127,985, depending on education and experience. Aspiring teachers without credentials or who are in credentialing programs receive a range of $62,316 to $63,866.
