About Alliance College-Ready Public Schools Alliance College-Ready Public Schools is one of the largest and most successful nonprofit public charter school networks in the nation, operating 25 high‑performing, middle and high schools that educate nearly 13,000 scholars who make up the heart of Los Angeles’ Latinx, Black, and recent immigrant communities. Alliance schools have been recognized as among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, Newsweek, the U.S. Department of Education, and the California Department of Education. Since opening our first school in 2004, 95% of Alliance scholars have graduated from high school. We strive to uplift our scholars and their communities by fostering unparalleled educational opportunities that encourage scholarly thought, resilient learning, powerful communication, mind‑body wellness, and community advocacy. Serving Los Angeles County since 2004, Alliance College-Ready Public Schools are tuition‑free charter schools that do not discriminate against any scholar, parent, community member, or staff member based on actual or perceived ancestry, age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or association with a person or group with any of these characteristics. Why Teach at Alliance? At Alliance, we believe all scholars can achieve—no exceptions. Our AllMeansAll initiative ensures that every scholar has equitable access to rigorous, grade‑level instruction and the support needed to reach their full potential. Alliance teachers thrive in a supportive and collaborative environment that focuses on both scholar success and educator growth. Equitable Learning for All: Serve diverse learners, including scholars with disabilities and multilingual learners, through inclusive, grade‑level instruction and individualized support. Curriculum & Resources: Curriculum is provided for most subjects, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet scholars’ individual needs. Teachers receive curriculum maps, pacing guides, a repository of instructional materials and videos, interim assessments and item banks, and other resources. Advisory: Lead advisory classes that build relationships, support social‑emotional growth, and strengthen school culture. Community & Family Engagement: Partner with families and community organizations through our Community Schools and parent engagement initiatives. Professional Development: Participate in regular instructional coaching and weekly professional development to support growth and continuous improvement. Essential Responsibilities Provide excellent college‑preparatory instruction to all scholars. Develop and maintain a positive, achievement‑oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn at college‑preparatory levels. Effectively execute assigned curriculum and just‑in‑time supports to reach every scholar, regardless of prior academic background, disability, or English language fluency. Engage in internalizing assigned curriculum, tied to specific grade level and content standards, in teacher teams and individually to prepare daily lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets aligned to rigorous college‑ready standards. Use exit tickets, unit tests, interim exams, and other assessment data to determine differentiated re‑teaching needed to advance scholars toward mastery. Collaborate with peers to ensure that all scholars receive the appropriate support, including the accommodations needed to successfully access grade‑level content. Uphold Alliance Values and Standards of Excellence by providing opportunities aligned with the Alliance’s College‑Ready Graduate Profile. Create a coherent and supportive classroom culture to support scholar engagement, learning, and well‑being. Support Alliance’s aspiration to prepare all scholars for college, with 75% or more completing a four‑year college degree. Seek opportunities, individually and through school‑based initiatives, to build strong and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families, scholars, and alumni. Lead advisory classes to build relationships, support social‑emotional growth, and strengthen school culture. Ideal Candidates Hold the belief that all scholars, regardless of their economic or social demographics, deserve a quality education and can earn a four‑year college degree. Can develop a positive, achievement‑oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates scholars to learn at college‑preparatory levels. Know how to use data, technology, and innovative teaching methods to monitor growth and scholar progress, drive classroom learning, and prepare scholars to succeed after high school.
