Senior Occupational Therapist, Inpatient, NICU & PICU, On-Call Salary: $306,900.00-$330,000.00 (Santa Clara, CA) Job Summary: Provides independent occupational therapy management of patients under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation or designee. Provides occupational therapy services in specialized patient care clinics and assists in the development, implementation, and review of departmental patient care programs. Essential Responsibilities Evaluate patients and interpret evaluation findings to determine nature and extent of dysfunction. Establish treatment goals and plan therapy to achieve these goals. Initiate discharge planning and implement the treatment plan through direct therapy or by delegating to supportive personnel, coordinating with other health care personnel as appropriate. Provide advice and education to patients and families, including training on use of special equipment or devices such as splints, slings, prosthesis, or ADL equipment, and adapt as necessary or refer to other disciplines. Regularly reassess clinical signs and symptoms to determine effectiveness of treatment, progress towards goals, and need for adjusting goals and treatment; discharge patient when maximum benefit achieved. Provide accurate, timely documentation of occupational therapy patient management; participate in approved educational and clinical research activities; participate in specialized patient care clinics outside the department. Assist in development, implementation, and review of departmental patient care programs; perform other duties as needed in staff education, departmental operations, and projects; demonstrate ongoing progress toward meeting professional practice criteria. Basic Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of experience as an occupational therapist. Education Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy curriculum with a bachelor’s or master’s degree and certification in occupational therapy or foreign-trained equivalent. License, Certification, Registration Occupational Therapist License (California) required at hire. National Provider Identifier required at hire. Basic Life Support required at hire. Additional Requirements Ability to perform both routine and complicated therapy under general supervision. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
