Overview Program Director of Gastroenterology Fellowship – Physician – Mount Sinai South Nassau – Oceanside, NY. The Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital (MSSN) seeks a Program Director for its ACGME fully accredited Gastroenterology fellowship training program. Program details The fellowship is comprised of two fellows per year (6 total). It provides exceptional clinical training along with opportunities for clinically oriented research. Required and elective experiences are at Mount Sinai South Nassau and its outpatient facilities, with IBD and liver transplant rotations at The Mount Sinai Hospital, and a separate advanced Interventional GI fellowship (one fellow per year). Responsibilities Plan and carry out the educational agenda for the gastroenterology fellowship program Perform customary administrative duties including mentoring, trainee evaluation, and annual recruitment of new fellows Develop innovative educational experiences to enhance skills for an increasingly diverse patient population Contribute to didactic and patient-oriented teaching involving fellows, residents, and medical students Position qualifications Board Certified in Gastroenterology Medical degree from an accredited university New York Medical License At least five years of practice; demonstrated interest in medical education Previous experience as an assistant or full program director is ideal Eligible for a faculty appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine as appropriate Commitment to Mount Sinai and the communities we serve Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills; strong work ethic; team-oriented, performance-driven mindset Position highlights Employed full-time position based at Mount Sinai South Nassau Competitive compensation and benefits package Serve a diverse population in a region with excellent school districts; easy access to Manhattan Clinical support staff and excellent ambulatory training sites and endoscopy centers Access to advanced interventional procedures (e.g., EUS, POEMS, Endobariatrics, Third space endoscopy) as part of the program Compensation Salary range from 400K to 425K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
