About the Opportunity

An established electrical contracting company specializing in high-end residential construction is seeking an experienced detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support daily accounting operations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise along with a strong understanding of accounts payable accounts receivable reconciliations and general bookkeeping. Previous experience in construction electrical contracting or a related industry is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & General Accounting

• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
• Record daily transactions journal entries and general ledger activity.
• Reconcile bank accounts credit cards vendor statements and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

• Process vendor invoices payments and customer billing.
• Track outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
• Record customer payments deposits and credit card transactions.
• Reconcile vendor and customer accounts.
• Maintain customer credit applications account records and payment terms.

Construction & Project Accounting

• Track construction project expenses including materials labor and subcontractor costs.
• Assist with job costing and allocating expenses to individual projects.
• Monitor project-related financial activity and identify discrepancies.
• Coordinate with project managers regarding invoices purchase orders and expenses.
• Maintain subcontractor payment records and supporting documentation.

Payroll & Administrative Support

• Assist with payroll preparation and employee timekeeping reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate employee expense and accounting records.
• Support the Accounting Manager with financial reports and special projects.
• Communicate with vendors customers and internal departments to resolve accounting questions.

Details:

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Online AND QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise. Both are required.
• Experience with accounts payable accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial recordkeeping.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail organization and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bookkeeping experience within construction electrical contracting general contracting or specialty trades.
• Experience with construction job costing and project-based accounting.
• Familiarity with subcontractor invoicing vendor payments and lien releases.
• Experience supporting payroll and month-end close procedures.

Compensation

$27$32/hour DOE (proposed)

Full-time hours onsite position in Los Angeles CA.
