Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required in specialty License: Compact or state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Experience in telemetry - Ability to manage dysrhythmias - Experience with cardiac drips Description: Upon accepting this assignment and starting in the role, the unit manager may assign the nurse to an emergency team. There will be an expectation to remain at the facility until after the event passes or to be part of the relief team. Specific details related to pay during emergency events will be communicated as impacts may vary. Signing the travel contract indicates acceptance of these terms. The nurse should report as assigned by the immediate unit manager during any emergency events. This position requires working every other holiday and every other weekend. Block scheduling is not accommodated on this unit. The unit serves adult and geriatric patient populations. Daily patient census averages around 12. The unit emphasizes interdisciplinary support including physical therapy and respiratory services among others. Patient diagnoses may include chest pain, coronary artery disease, diabetes, and others. Special procedures performed in this unit include pre- and post-angiogram, central line catheter insertions, and wound debridement. Telemetry monitoring equipment is used in this unit along with specialized tools for wound care. Flexibility and adaptability to float to other inpatient units when requested are essential. This role does not require on-call or call-back duties. Nurses should be prepared for a patient ratio of 6:1 during shifts. References are required prior to start clearance. All certifications need to be up to date prior to starting the position. Previous travel experience is preferred.
