Physical Plant Service Worker I - Support Activities & Moves Location: San Antonio, TX Type: Regular Full Time Job ID: 15231 Salary Range: $33,891 annualized Posting Close Date: This position will remain open until filled. Job Summary The Physical Plant Service Worker I performs various manual tasks necessary to complete work order assignments for the Physical Plant. Core Responsibilities Completes assigned work with supervision from the crew leader. Works as a team member to load, unload, and move furniture and equipment at different locations, setting up and tearing down furniture for special functions. Drives trucks and operates power equipment to transport equipment for salvage. Performs custodial duties and basic painting and construction work. Promotes safety and environmental protection by reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents, following university safety plans and participating in safety training. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma, Vocational Training, or Apprenticeship in a related field. One year of related work experience. Ability to maintain security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Tools and equipment in moving trade. Motor vehicle equipment. Forklift operation. Trucks and power equipment. Working Conditions Conditions may vary. Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions. Occasional overtime duty required on nights, weekends, and holidays for athletic events and special programs. Physical Demands Medium work. Exertion of up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and MVR may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
