Sales Support Specialist

This role will sit onsite in the Columbus, Ohio area. The salary range is $85k - $95k per year. Exact compensation may vary depending on factors such as skills, education, and experience. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Sales Support, Commercial Operations, Account Support, Customer Success, or similar customer-facing roles. Experience supporting strategic or enterprise-level customer accounts. Strong understanding of quoting, pricing, opportunity management, and order processing. Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization. Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CPQ systems. Experience with CRM platforms (Oracle Sales Cloud, Salesforce, Dynamics, etc.). ERP or Order Management experience. Understanding of technical products, engineered solutions, or industrial/data center environments. Experience supporting global strategic accounts. About the Role A client of Insight Global is seeking a highly organized, commercially minded Global Strategic Accounts Sales Specialist to support a team of Global Strategic Account (GSA) Directors managing some of the organization's largest and most strategic customer relationships. This position serves as a trusted business partner, providing critical sales support, commercial execution, deal governance, and cross-functional coordination to help drive growth and operational excellence. The ideal candidate combines strong sales operations expertise with customer-facing professionalism, technical aptitude, and the ability to navigate a highly matrixed global environment. This individual will play a key role in quoting, opportunity management, order execution, customer reporting, and coordination between internal teams and strategic customers. Key Responsibilities Strategic Account & Cross-Functional Support Partner closely with Global Strategic Account Directors to support strategic customer initiatives and commercial execution. Act as a liaison between Sales, Product Strategy, Technical Business Development, Sales Operations, Order Management, Finance, and Project Execution teams. Drive resolution of customer and commercial issues while maintaining alignment with business objectives. Influence stakeholders across multiple functions and regions to meet customer commitments. Serve as a professional commercial point of contact for strategic customers. Participate in customer meetings, business reviews, and execution-focused discussions. Prepare customer‑specific reports, performance metrics, and commercial documentation. Manage customer reporting requirements across internal systems and external customer portals. Quotations, Pricing & Pipeline Management Create, maintain, and revise CPQ quotations and proposals. Ensure pricing accuracy, compliance, and responsiveness throughout the sales cycle. Manage CRM opportunities and maintain accurate pipeline data. Support forecasting activities and provide insight into deal status, timing, and risk. Coordinate and facilitate Deviation of Policy (DOP) approvals and supporting business cases. Order Management & Execution Oversee order entry activities for assigned strategic accounts. Ensure order accuracy, completeness, and compliance with customer requirements. Coordinate handoffs to Order Management and Project Execution teams. Manage change orders, commercial impacts, and internal stakeholder alignment. Support billing, collections, and tax exemption issues in partnership with Finance teams. Technical & Commercial Expertise Develop and maintain strong knowledge of products, solutions, and applications. Support complex configurations and customer requirements using CPQ tools.
