This role balances tactical execution with analytical decision-making to support operational efficiency. Essential Duties Manage end-to-end purchasing for assigned commodities or suppliers. Analyze MRP signals and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly. Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms (delivery/payment) within defined limits. Proactively mitigate supply risks and resolve delivery or quality issues. Develop and maintain supplier relationships, monitor performance, and support corrective actions. Collaborate with planning, operations, and engineering on part changes, cost/lead-time impacts, and supplier qualifications. Support cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate forecasting and communicate supply risks. All other duties assigned. Qualifications Education 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related field from an accredited university. Experience – Required 5 years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain or technical experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. 3 years managing suppliers and purchase orders independently. 3 years exposure to MRP/ERP systems in a lean manufacturing or operations environment. Experience – Preferred 7 years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain or technical experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Experience with cost analysis or basic negotiations. Honorably discharged service veterans. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations – Preferred APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or ISM (CPSM). Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Working knowledge of procurement, supply chain, and inventory management. Understanding of supplier performance metrics and cost drivers. Familiarity with contract terms and basic negotiation principles. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Effective negotiation and supplier management skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis tools such as MS Excel. Ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision. Ability to make sound, data-driven purchasing decisions. Ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders. Exposure to MRP/ERP systems in a lean manufacturing or operations environment. Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
