Advanced Manufacturing Controls Engineer Valencia, CA or Mojave, CA PPG’s Aerospace Business is looking for an experienced Manufacturing & Controls Engineer to join our team in Southern California. As the Advanced Manufacturing Controls Engineer , you will develop and implement innovative control solutions across a diverse group of chemical manufacturing processes within our multi‑site Aerospace Business Unit. You will work from one of our Southern California sites, located in either Valencia, CA or Mojave, CA. This is an onsite role and reports to the Global Project Director, Aerospace Materials. Key Responsibilities Participate as a team member in all aspects of Front End Engineering, Design and Installation, including preparation of documentation, providing technical support to Engineers, Operators and Technical resources. Develop RFQs, SOWs, and directly manage vendors and contractors, plan and execute the full scope of the project, review workflow as needed, and coordinate equipment installation. Provide field leadership of employees and contractors, promoting teamwork, collaboration and driving results to complete projects on time and within budget. Document project and special process information, including technical writing of standard operating procedures (SOPs), operations manuals, and training documentation. Assist with capital budgeting and fiscal control of projects, justifying ROA/ROE/ROI, handling the total bid process, and implementing strategic cost avoidance and reduction. Implement aerospace strategic MES/SCADA throughout the SBU, including hardware and software selection and installation. Keep each facility’s MES/SCADA system up to date, standardize across facilities, and develop real‑time display of metrics. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Software, Manufacturing, Engineering, or equivalent work experience and certifications. 5+ years of experience with hands‑on programming of PLCs. Ability to travel up to 50%. Experience with GE Proficy, Rockwell Automation, Siemens OpCenter or similar integration systems. Knowledge of PLCs, Allen Bradley preferred. Salary & Benefits Base salary range: $140,000 to $160,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 10% of base salary.
