About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Director of Planned Giving to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive planned giving program. This part-time leadership role is pivotal in securing complex and deferred gifts, including bequests, charitable trusts, and real estate. The successful candidate will serve as the institution's planned giving expert, providing strategic guidance, technical expertise, and donor engagement strategies. Responsibilities include partnering with advancement leadership, gift officers, and volunteers to identify and cultivate planned giving opportunities, as well as managing a portfolio of high-capacity prospects. The role also involves maintaining accurate donor records, ensuring ethical fundraising practices, and staying abreast of current tax laws and planned giving opportunities. Applicants for the Senior Director position must have a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a JD or advanced degree, and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in planned giving, estate planning, trust management, or fundraising. The role requires proficiency in donor databases and information technology, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work in a complex, demanding environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of inspiring trust and confidence. A belief in the mission of the institution and a commitment to ethical conduct are essential. The position demands a professional who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
