Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 observation beds, and a 6-bed Fast Track area
• Manage and care for patients presenting with trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, strokes (including TPA administration), and other acute conditions
• Administer and monitor all common drips associated with a Level I Trauma environment
• Read and independently interpret cardiac monitor strips and telemetry
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 in standard zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, and 1:1 in ICU/Trauma settings
• Float to the observation unit and a freestanding Emergency Department at least once per week as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center (required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Must pass a facility-administered open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Compliance with facility nail policy: artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
• Experience in a Pediatric-certified or Comprehensive Stroke Center emergency environment
• Familiarity with TPA administration and stroke protocols
