For starters, busy season doesn't have to mean waving goodbye to your personal life for four months. Hours typically range from 45 to 55 per week, with 55 being the maximum rather than something you're expected to hit from January onwards. There's a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days in the office, flexibility around family commitments and an understanding that you have a life outside of work. If you need to adjust your hours for a school run or something personal, you can. Time off is taken seriously, too. The firm closes completely between Christmas and New Year, with additional days off around April 15th, July 4th and Thanksgiving. And then there's the rest... The opportunity itself As Tax Manager, you'll work with a broad mix of clients, taking ownership of engagements, reviewing returns and building relationships directly with clients. It's a generalist tax position, so you'll have the opportunity to work across different areas rather than spending your entire career specialising in one narrow part of tax. You'll be joining an established team of experienced professionals, with opportunities to continue developing your career and take on more responsibility. They're looking for someone with Public Accounting experience who enjoys working with clients and wants to be part of a firm for the long term. A CPA would be welcomed, but it's not a requirement. Perhaps you've reached the point in your career where you're wondering whether progressing in Public Accounting has to come at the expense of everything else. It doesn't.
