Webster & Garner Inc. is seeking an Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative to join our team. This is a critical, individual-contributor role reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, with a strong focus on generating and closing sales. The ideal candidate is a motivated team player who is committed to delivering superior customer service, upholding safety standards, and pursuing continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales
• Handle inbound calls regarding new propane service, tank installations, and price quotes
• Convert competitor tank switch-outs and follow up on sales leads to close business
• Enroll customers in pre-buy, budget billing, and keep-fill programs
• Identify opportunities to upsell service plans, tank monitors, and equipment
• Customer Service
• Process will-call orders and coordinate delivery scheduling
• Respond to no-heat and out-of-gas calls, coordinate service urgently in accordance with company protocol
• Resolve billing inquiries, payment issues, and account updates
• Log and immediately escalate safety-related calls, including odor and leak reports
• Maintain accurate customer records and delivery notes
• Generate invoices and other documentation as required
• Administrative
• Maintain accurate call and order documentation to support degree-day delivery routing
• Meet established targets for call handling, response time, and customer satisfaction
• Support increased call volume during peak winter season
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace

Qualifications & Skills

• Demonstrate phone communication and active listening skills
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn, investigate, and solve problems independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to quickly learn our customer software system
• Strong organizational and administrative skills, including recordkeeping, multitasking, prioritization, and time management
• Professional appearance, demeanor, and communication style
• Strong team player who works well with colleagues and contributes to a positive work environment
• Prior experience in sales or customer service preferred, particularly within the propane, home services, or utilities industries
