Piala's Nursery & Garden Shop, Inc. is seeking a talented and motivated landscape designer or landscape architect to join our design, sales, and construction team. In this role, you will work directly with our sales staff and clients to deliver comprehensive landscape design, consultation, and installation services. This position is ideal for a creative professional who enjoys developing high-quality, customized landscape solutions that bring each client's vision to life.

Key responsibilities include conducting site measurements, inventory, and analysis; preparing base maps, design concepts, and detailed landscape plans; supporting the sales process; assisting with material selections and project planning; coordinating with build teams and subcontractors during installation; observing and supervising construction to ensure designs are executed accurately and efficiently; ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction; and collaborating with project managers and field teams to address issues, change orders, and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong communication skills and a passion for landscape design are essential. A degree in landscape architecture or a related field is strongly preferred. This position offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring landscape architects to work directly with multiple licensed landscape architects while preparing for Wisconsin licensure.

Requirements include being at least 18 years old, having a minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape design or the design/build industry, knowledge of common Wisconsin landscape plants, experience with vector-based design software (AutoCAD, Dynascape, or similar), proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, a strong understanding of topography and grading, sketchup experience is beneficial but not required, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a positive attitude, the ability to be a self-directed quick learner and problem solver, the ability to maintain a professional appearance, the ability to take ownership of projects from start to completion, the ability to multitask and coordinate workload to meet deadlines, and prior sales experience is beneficial but not required.
