Benefits Specialist/Secretary to the Business Administrator Pottsgrove School District Business Office - Pottstown, Pennsylvania Job Details Starting Date: To Be Determined Position Type: Full-Time Work Year: 260 Days Work Day: 7.5 hours per day Starting Rate: $27 per hour Comprehensive benefit package and paid holidays. Job Description JOB SUMMARY: Provide secretarial support to the Business Manager in a professional, diplomatic manner and comply with confidentiality requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain all health benefits for district employees and retirees, administer invoices, enrollments, terminations, and payments. Orient new hired employees to Pottsgrove’s benefit plans and serve as point of contact for health benefits, FSA, and 403B. Serve as primary contact for open enrollment with vendors and staff; manage the District’s open enrollment activities and communicate with Payroll for premium deductions. Act as Workman’s Compensation coordinator; receive injury documentation, forward to insurer, and coordinate with workers compensation provider. Track and record all ACA activity; collaborate with the 1095 provider for yearly form distributions. Assist in planning FSA open enrollment and communicate elections with provider and Payroll Department. Perform reconciliation of residency as required by Act 80. Perform clerical duties including answering phones, receiving visitors, typing documents, maintaining files, and processing mail. Process Direct Certification (DC) eligibility for free/reduced lunch, report to the State and Sunbucks administration, and update POS systems. Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in employee benefits desired. Experience in a business office preferred. High School diploma required. College Degree preferred. Clearances Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code). Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code). FBI Criminal History Record. Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994. Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
