Associate Director - Paid Media (New York)

We’re hiring an Associate Director of Paid Media to lead strategy and execution across our media accounts while helping shape the future of the department. This is a hybrid leadership and execution role: part strategist, part team lead, part builder. We’re looking for a hands-on-keyboard leader who’s just as comfortable in platform-building campaigns as they are presenting to clients or pitching new business.

You’ll guide our media practice across paid social, search, and emerging channels while working closely with HYPE10’s partners and senior clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a player-coach environment, leading by doing and never fully stepping away from the work.

Responsibilities:

• Lead cross-channel paid media strategy and planning for a portfolio of accounts.
• Act as a senior client partner: driving digital marketing strategies, growth roadmaps, and performance storytelling.
• Translate client objectives into structured frameworks, testing agendas, and media mix models.
• Oversee campaign execution and optimization across Meta, Google, TikTok, and emerging channels.
• Stay hands-on in-platform for high-priority launches, scaling phases, or complex tests.
• Ensure campaigns balance efficiency with brand-building impact.
• Manage and mentor Media Managers/Strategists, providing training, feedback, and support.
• Serve as a second layer of leadership beneath the Director - ensuring account health, enforcing best practices, and elevating standards.
• Contribute to team hiring, onboarding, and development.
• Vet new platforms, partners, and tools to keep HYPE10’s media practice innovative.

Requirements:

• 4–6 years of experience in Paid Media (agency background strongly preferred).
• Proven track record owning client strategy and scaling performance across Meta, Google, and TikTok.
• Experience managing and developing junior to mid-level media buyers.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill performance insights into actionable strategies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable with senior client stakeholders.
• Hands-on operator mindset — willing to jump into platforms when needed, but also capable of pulling up to guide strategy.
• Collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
