Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful difference for students as a part-time Physical Therapist supporting K-8 learners. This contract opportunity is located close to Damariscotta, Maine, and is ideal for professionals passionate about fostering student growth and independence. The position offers a unique schedule: provide 4 hours of weekly therapy during Summer School (07/07/2026–07/30/2026) and then continue care through the entire 2026-2027 school year (08/24/2026–06/11/2027).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Physical Therapist license in Maine (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation
- Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills
- Ability to motivate and engage students with diverse needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy to students from kindergarten through 8th grade, following prescribed IEP goals
- Assess and document student progress, adapting interventions to maximize achievement and access
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, families, and other specialists
- Provide input for IEP meetings and assist in developing appropriate goals and strategies
- Support classroom staff with recommendations for accommodations and adaptive strategies
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with school district and state requirements
