Job Details Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown / Cardiology / Telemetry Setting: Heart and Vascular Intermediate Care Unit Location: Madison, WI 53792 Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift Duration: 12-hour nights Schedule: Monday through Friday with every other weekend required Hours Per Week: 36 Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 Orientation: 36 hours Floating: Travelers are required to float as needed Job Requirements Current Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license Minimum of 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse experience within the last 3 years in the specialty BLS and ACLS certification through AHA Epic charting experience required Telemetry experience required Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred Ability to work nights, weekends, and float as needed Strong critical thinking skills and comfort with complex cardiac and vascular patients Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care for cardiac surgery stepdown, cardiology, and vascular surgery patients Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition Manage chest tubes, feeding tubes, drains, temporary pacing wires, PCAs, and hemodynamic support therapies Administer and titrate vasoactive, insulin, and heparin drips per protocol Perform assessments, interventions, and ongoing evaluations for adult and geriatric patients Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support safe, patient-centered care Educate patients and families throughout the care plan and recovery process Support evidence-based practice and contribute to a collaborative travel nursing team environment Apply now to join this Cardiac Stepdown travel RN opportunity in Madison, Wisconsin, and advance your nursing career in a rewarding acute care setting.
