Grants Manager
The Grants Manager plays a critical role in supporting the agency's financial stewardship and long-term strategic goals by managing the full lifecycle of grant administration. This position is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, coordinating grant applications, overseeing compliance and reporting requirements, and monitoring the financial performance of awarded funds. The Grants Manager also supports capital budget development, helps manage emergency grant programs, and serves as a key resource for grant-related guidance across the organization.
Reporting to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, this position works closely with internal departments, external funding agencies, and agency leadership to help secure and manage funding that advances agency priorities. The role combines strategic planning, financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional coordination to ensure grant-funded programs are administered effectively and in alignment with organizational goals. Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable and proactive grants professional who brings strong experience in grant administration, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance, preferably within the public sector or a similarly regulated environment. They are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. This individual communicates effectively, builds productive working relationships across departments and with external partners, and can translate complex funding requirements into clear guidance and actionable next steps. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and a collaborative approach, along with a commitment to supporting the agency's mission through effective grant strategy and administration.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Education: Equivalent to Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in grants administration, fund management, or capital budgeting, with at least two (2) years in a lead or management capacity.
