The position assists the CIO/CTO and works collaboratively with senior managers, security, infrastructure, endpoint, and campus technology teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and user-centered cloud productivity services. Duties and Tasks: Lead planning, administration, and continuous improvement of Infrastructure Services, new and existing cloud platforms, with emphasis on Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID. Provide day-to-day operational leadership for teams responsible for data center services, Microsoft 365 & Google cloud services, on premises server and storage infrastructure, network services, advanced desktop, video engineering, telecommunications, and video conferencing. Establish and maintain tenant governance, administrative roles, licensing practices, service health monitoring, change management, lifecycle management, and operational standards for both data center services and cloud services. Coordinate with information security and compliance teams to implement cloud security controls, multi-factor authentication, conditional access, data loss prevention, retention, audit, eDiscovery, and secure external collaboration practices. Oversee configuration and administration of core system consoles for access, licensing, service plans, governance, and tenant-wide collaboration settings. Make regular requests from employees for updates and input on college decisions and share feedback with supervisors for inclusion in the NOVA Brief. Must be able to Pass CJIS Level 4 and FBI and Virginia State Police background check. Special Assignments: May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Ability to balance cloud productivity enablement with strong governance, least-privilege access, data protection, compliance requirements, and measurable service reliability. Knowledge of technical controls including conditional access, multi-factor authentication, privileged role assignment, audit logging, retention policies, sensitivity labels, data loss prevention, secure guest access, anti-phishing controls, mobile device/application management, and endpoint compliance. Ability to interpret service health advisories, message center updates, unified audit logs, sign-in logs, security alerts, compliance reports, and usage analytics to identify risks, resolve incidents, and recommend service improvements. Minimum Work Qualifications Experience at an enterprise level. Experience in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage changing requirements on a regular basis. Experience in the implementation of new technology and promotion of technology use. Experience administering or overseeing Microsoft 365, cloud identity, cloud collaboration, messaging, security, compliance, licensing, and service management in an enterprise environment. Hands-on experience or direct oversight of cloud online administration, including mailbox configuration, distribution groups, shared mailboxes, transport rules, accepted domains, retention, archiving, anti-spam/anti-malware settings, and mail-flow troubleshooting. Experience supporting Microsoft Entra ID, including identity lifecycle processes, groups, administrative roles, authentication methods, conditional access, hybrid identity concepts, single sign-on, application registration governance, and privileged access management. Additional Considerations Additional Considerations: Experience supervising multiple enterprise IT units (or related units) using state of the art equipment and software. Significant technology management experience. Demonstrated technology proficiency in enterprise-level technology and software. Microsoft, cloud, or security certifications such as Microsoft 365 Administrator, Azure Administrator, Identity and Access Administrator, Security Administrator, or equivalent credentials are preferred. Preferred experience with Microsoft Intune, endpoint compliance policies, mobile application protection, Defender for Office 365, Defender for Endpoint integrations, Microsoft Purview information protection, eDiscovery, audit, and records retention.
