Landscape Construction Estimator

Job Summary The Construction Estimator is responsible for producing timely, accurate and detailed cost information of landscape projects by evaluating construction sites, plans and specifications. They work closely with the Sales Team, Project Managers, Vendors and Subcontractors. They compile required information, pricing and labor estimates to develop detailed proposals for the sales and operations team. This valued member of the team is an integral part of the success of the operations and profitability of landscape construction projects. This position reports to the Director of Landscape Construction. Core Values Culture of Safety – Safety is always job #1 A Growing Tradition Plants, Personally, Financially and Professionally Employee Owned – Personal Pride in Success with an Owners Mentality Exceptional Customer Experience – Delighting our Clients with our Products and Services Good Neighbors – Community Pride – Sharing our Success Respectability – Treating Others as we want to be treated Duties / Responsibilities Managing bid calendar and delivering accurate and detailed proposals Reading and interpreting plans and specifications Reviewing sites and gathering information and data for proposals Completing plan take-offs to gather information and data for proposals Developing estimates and proposals for landscape construction projects within an integrated software management system Communicating with vendors, subcontractors and other stakeholders Working with Business Developers and Project Managers developing budgets, proposals, revisions and value engineering options Providing risk assessment and cost analysis to the operations team as required Requirements Required Skills / Abilities Have experiential knowledge of the landscape or green industry Have the ability to read and navigate plans and specifications Have knowledge of multiple software platforms including AutoCad and Adobe Be self-motivated and possess excellent time-management skills Possess good interpersonal and written communication skills Be detailed oriented Have a working knowledge Microsoft Word and Excel Possess strong math skills including basic arithmetic, algebra and geometry Possess strong typing skills Education And Experience A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in the Landscape Industry or a related Construction Field is preferred. A minimum of two to three years of estimating experience preferred Physical Requirements Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body Be able to reach overhead Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday This job description is not a complete statement of all duties and responsibilities comprising the position.
