Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active OT licensure in Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
- Hands-on experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy preferred
- Strong assessment, intervention, and reporting skills
- Knowledge of IEP documentation and special education processes
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational abilities
- Adaptability and a commitment to fostering student independence
Typical Responsibilities:
- Provide assessments and direct therapy services to students according to IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized interventions
- Assist in developing classroom strategies and modifications to promote student access and participation
- Document services, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately and timely
- Participate in IEP meetings and multi-disciplinary team activities as needed
- Engage students in creative, functional activities that enhance academic and daily living skills
