Sr. Firmware Engineer - MA

Title: Sr. Firmware Engineer
Client: General Dynamics Mission Systems
Location: Taunton, MA 100% Onsite
Duration: 6 12 months, potential extension
Interview: Initial phone with HM followed by onsite for local candidates or a MS Teams panel interview for non-local candidates
Must Have:
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
- 6 8+ years relevant Firmware/Embedded experience
- Strong C/C++ programming
- Hands-on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
- RTOS experience
- Embedded protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO
- ADC, PWM, Timers
- Strong firmware + hardware integration knowledge
- Ability to independently make technical decisions
Strong Plus:
- Bench-level debugging/testing
- Oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter
- JTAG/SWD debugging
- Ultra-low-power embedded systems
- Defense/Aerospace or other mission-critical products
- Experience evaluating an existing firmware codebase and deciding whether to maintain, refactor, or rewrite
Ideal Candidate:
A senior hands-on embedded/firmware engineer who can own an existing firmware platform, write/debug C/C++ on ARM Cortex-M, work with RTOS and hardware interfaces, perform bench testing, and confidently drive technical decisions.
