Job Summary

SANITATION MANAGER

Summary:

The Sanitation Manager oversees sanitation and cleaning operations within the Food & Nutrition Services department. This position leads the sanitation team, maintains a clean and safe environment, and ensures compliance with hospital, company, and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties:

• Lead daily sanitation, dishroom, and cleaning operations.
• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise sanitation associates.
• Maintain cleaning procedures, schedules, and inspection logs.
• Ensure kitchens, equipment, storage areas, and service areas meet sanitation standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and correct any issues.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, infection control, and workplace safety requirements.
• Manage cleaning supplies, chemicals, equipment, and inventory.
• Coordinate pest control and waste removal.
• Monitor labor, expenses, and department performance.
• Work closely with culinary, operations, and hospital leadership.
• Support regulatory inspections and quality-improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Four years of sanitation, foodservice, housekeeping, environmental services, or related experience.
• At least one year of supervisory or management experience.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, cleaning chemicals, and workplace safety.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Healthcare or high-volume foodservice experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Associate degree preferred.
