Senior Scientist, Analytical Development

Vaxcyte seeks a Senior Scientist to lead analytical method development for vaccine and biologics programs. The role involves designing and optimizing analytical assays, troubleshooting complex technical issues, mentoring junior scientists, and preparing regulatory-ready documentation with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute method development strategies and experimental roadmaps for analytical assays
- Lead troubleshooting investigations, establish root causes, and implement preventive controls
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on problem-solving approaches
- Author, review, and maintain technical documentation including protocols, SOPs, and validation reports
- Serve as cross-functional technical leader aligning analytical strategy with program objectives
Requirements
- Demonstrated hands-on laboratory experience with analytical methods and instrumentation
- Deep technical expertise in biologics or vaccine analytical development
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently plan and execute work
- Experience leading method development, optimization, and qualification activities
- Proficiency in interpreting complex analytical data and root-cause investigations
- Ability to author and review technical documentation, protocols, and SOPs
