Job Description
Registered Nurse - Med-Surg

Schedule

12-hour shifts, Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, every other weekend, and every other holiday.

Assignment Details

Guaranteed Hours: 36
Contract Weeks: 13

Requirements

• 4+ years of recent acute care experience
• Experience in step-down is preferred for night shifts
• Experience with Meditech IVs and telemetry
• Ability to adapt quickly to different units
• 1 recent successful travel contract
• Must independently read telemetry strips and pass an on-site exam with at least 84% (2 attempts)
• Experience managing titratable IV drips; specifically with nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and diltiazem infusions
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
• Preferred experience with EPIC
• 5+ years of previous float experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a med-surg environment
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as prescribed
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to plan and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and their families on health management strategies
• Document patient symptoms and progress in medical records
• Respond to emergency situations appropriately

Compliance / Notes

No extended time off requests will be accommodated, and most Fridays will be required. Specific schedule requests may not be honored.
