A small organization is partnering with LHH to identify a part-time Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations and ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, has strong payroll knowledge, and is experienced using Paylocity. The Payroll Specialist will manage payroll processing, maintain employee records, respond to payroll inquiries, and help ensure compliance with payroll regulations. This position is fully remote but the manager is looking for someone who sits on the west coast and can work pacific standard hours. Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule using Paylocity
• Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and status changes
• Review timecards and payroll data for accuracy prior to each payroll run
• Process payroll deductions, garnishments, benefits, and direct deposits
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed
• Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Coordinate with HR and Accounting regarding payroll-related changes
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and compensation information

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience
• Hands-on experience with Paylocity is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, wage and hour requirements, and tax withholdings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple deadlines
• Professional communication and customer service skills

Pay Details: $30.00 to $33.00 per hour
