2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Shift/Pay/Additional Information:

• (1) Opening - 2nd shift 3p to 11p
  • Train 1st, move 2nd
  • Monday - Friday (Saturdays Currently - No Sundays)
  • Should expect to work 45-50hrs a week.
• Pay: $28 - 30/hour range preferred, may go more for right person
  • Will receive $1.00 Shift Premium
  • 1.5X after 40 Hours
  • Weekly Pay

• Get anniversary hire in date paid off
• For each quarter if they have perfect attendance they will get a paid day off. If they go the full year of perfect attendance they get a 5th day paid off

Summary:

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing industrial production equipment on the 2nd shift, with approximately 70% mechanical and 30% electrical responsibilities. You will support a high-volume manufacturing environment by troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring reliable operation of forming mills, coating lines, cutting machines, extrusion units, conveyors, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform approximately 70% mechanical and 30% electrical maintenance on production equipment, including forming mills, coating lines, cutting machines, extrusion units, conveyors, plating lines, and related systems.
• Maintain and repair secondary equipment such as pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, motors (AC/DC), gears, shifters, and associated mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V three-phase, 120V single phase, and 24V AC/DC, including both single-phase and three-phase circuits.
• Diagnose and repair electrical components such as limit switches, proximity switches, sensors, motors, drives, and control devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on all assigned equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics to support troubleshooting, repairs, and installations.
• Perform MIG welding and some ARC (stick) welding to repair or fabricate parts and components as needed.
• Disassemble machine components, repair or replace parts, and rebuild equipment to restore proper operation.
• Carry out general building maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, changing lights, painting, and other facility upkeep as required.
• Clean furnaces and related equipment by using rods and tools to clear raw materials from pipes and internal passages.
• Use a volt meter and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical issues safely and accurately.
• Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures while working on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Lift and move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds in a safe and controlled manner.
• Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to minimize downtime and support continuous operation of the facility.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage as required by site procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ARCHBOLD, OH.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
