Project Manager II (Contract)

Position Overview

Client is seeking a Project Manager II to support Professional Services implementations for large accounting firms and mid-market customers. This role is responsible for managing complex customer projects, including firm consolidations, platform migrations, and client onboarding initiatives. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating cross-functional teams, driving project execution, managing stakeholder communications, and ensuring successful project delivery from initiation through completion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead end-to-end implementation projects for accounting firms and mid-market customers.
2. Manage firm consolidation and organizational restructuring projects.
3. Oversee platform migration projects, including desktop and third-party software conversions to QuickBooks Online (QBO) or Client Enterprise Suite (IES).
4. Serve as the primary customer-facing project manager throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Build strong relationships with accounting firms and business stakeholders.
6. Translate customer business requirements into actionable project plans.
7. Coordinate with implementation, product, sales, and internal cross-functional teams.
8. Facilitate project meetings, establish project cadence, and manage stakeholder communications.
9. Track project milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.
10. Analyze project data and communicate insights to stakeholders.
11. Drive projects proactively to successful completion while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
12. Support customer escalations and provide effective issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

1. Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
2. Strong project management experience within software implementation, SaaS, or technology environments.
3. Experience working with accounting firms, financial services, or accounting software implementations.
4. Strong customer relationship management and stakeholder communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
6. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
7. Experience leading customer-facing implementation projects from initiation through completion.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
2. Knowledge of Client Enterprise Suite (IES).
3. Accounting background or experience supporting accounting firms.
4. Experience managing QuickBooks migration or conversion projects.
5. Experience with accounting software platforms such as Sage, NetSuite, Thomson Reuters, or similar solutions.
6. Experience working for large accounting firms.
7. Experience with tax or financial software products.
8. Familiarity with software implementation methodologies.

Interview Process

Initial Screening

1. 15-minute hiring manager screening interview.

Panel Interview

1. One-hour virtual panel interview via Zoom.
2. Candidate presentation introducing professional background and experience.
3. Project presentation covering an end-to-end project managed by the candidate, including planning, execution, challenges, risk mitigation, outcomes, and lessons learned.
4. Behavioral and situational interview questions focused on project management, customer engagement, communication, and problem-solving.

Career Growth

Contract extensions beyond the initial assignment may be available based on business needs and individual performance, with opportunities to continue for up to 12-18 months.
