Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Summary:

Provide specialized cardiovascular surgical care as a CVOR Registered Nurse in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. Deliver perioperative support for adult and pediatric cardiovascular procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer preoperative assessments and prepare patients for cardiovascular surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Assist during surgeries, monitoring patient vitals and supporting surgeons with intraoperative procedures.
  
  
• 
  Manage post-operative care, including stabilization and recovery of cardiac patients.
  
  
• 
  Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols.
  
  
• 
  Document all patient care activities accurately in the Meditech system.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active Texas RN license; temporary licenses are not accepted.
  
  
• 
  Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital setting, specifically within cardiovascular surgery.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in using Meditech documentation system.
  
  
• 
  Have advanced skills in heart transplant procedures, intra-aortic balloon pump management, and pediatric heart experience (preferred).
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
