Desk Nurse / Assistant Unit ManagerAn established, mission-driven senior healthcare organization in Connecticut is seeking two collaborative, clinically skilled Daytime RN Desk Nurses / Assistant Unit Managers to partner directly with Lead Unit Managers in driving unit operations.In this dual clinical-administrative leadership role, you will work side-by-side with the Lead Unit Manager to oversee daily care delivery, clinical documentation, physician order processing, and unit workflows across designated resident units (1 dedicated to the upstairs two units, 1 dedicated to the downstairs two units). This role is ideal for an experienced long-term care RN looking for a structured, Monday through Friday daytime management opportunity without full solo administrative burden.Key Responsibilities:Unit Operations & Desk Leadership: Work alongside the Lead Unit Manager to coordinate daily unit operations, shift reports, and clinical nursing workflows across two assigned unitsClinical Order & Chart Management: Review, process, and reconcile physician orders, lab results, diagnostic reports, and pharmacy profiles to ensure rapid, accurate clinical executionInterdisciplinary Coordination: Function as a primary liaison between attending physicians, interdisciplinary therapy teams, families, and floor nursing staff to align resident care plansResident Assessment & Family Communication: Assist with comprehensive resident clinical assessments, care planning updates, routine family updates, and hospital discharge preparationFloor Staff Guidance & Support: Model clinical standards and provide ongoing coaching, documentation support, and daily guidance to floor RNs, LPNs, and CNAsRegulatory & Quality Oversight: Maintain meticulous EMR documentation standards in compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) regulations and internal facility QAPI benchmarksQualifications:Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut requiredLTC Management Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care (LTC) setting, including demonstrated supervisory, charge nurse, desk nurse, or unit management experienceOrganizational Skills: Exceptional administrative multitasking abilities, order reconciliation skills, and detail orientation to manage two active clinical unitsEMR Proficiency: High proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems (e.g., PointClickCare) for care planning, order entries, and audit complianceCommunication: Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, facility leadership, nursing teams, and resident familiesBenefitsHealth & Wellness Coverage: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans with robust employee well-being and support resourcesRetirement Plan with Match: Employer-sponsored 403(b) retirement plan offering Traditional and Roth options with a 100% match up to 2% of contributions (plus an additional 1% match potential based on eligibility)Paid Time Off (PTO): Generous accrued PTO program combining vacation, personal, and sick time, with accrual rates based on length of serviceConnecticut Paid Sick Leave: Accrues at 1 hour per 30 hours worked (up to 40 hours annually)Paid Holidays: 6 paid company holidays per yearTuition & Educational Support: Annual course and tuition reimbursement of up to $4,000 per year for eligible full-time employeesNote on Compensation: The posted range represents base rates for specialized nursing and supervisory positions.
