Robotics and Controls Engineer - Strategic Robotics

Responsibilities Work on a focused multi‑functional team developing robotic solutions for next‑generation medical robotic systems. Develop novel human‑robot interaction methods using feedback from clinical engineers and physicians. Collaborate with instrument and capital hardware engineers to implement and test algorithms controlling novel medical devices. Design and implement software in a real‑time, safety‑critical environment. Develop test protocols to evaluate algorithms and hardware/software performance. Build and test concept proofs and prototypes on systems. Participate in design discussions, code reviews, procedure development, and clinical procedures. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree + 2 years robotics‑related experience (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.); MS highly preferred. Proficiency with C/C++ and computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, OOP in UNIX). Fundamental experience with robotic dynamics and kinematics. Highly beneficial: Detection/Estimation, UI/UX, Haptics, Soft Robotics, or Nonlinear Control. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
