Maintenance Mechanic wanted for a stable, long-running manufacturer: $33.12/hour plus premiums, a $2,000 sign-on bonus, and day-shift weeks that run just 3 to 4 days.

This is a direct-hire seat on the day-shift maintenance crew. No nights, automatic raises twice a year, and a plant that just spent the last year getting fully staffed and stable.

THE COMPANY

Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of an established manufacturer in the Menomonee Falls area that runs high-speed production around the clock. It is a union shop with senior mechanics who have been on site 20 to 40 years, and the equipment is proprietary and decades old, so nobody walks in already knowing it. Every new mechanic trains directly on their shift alongside a senior partner.

THE OPPORTUNITY

- Two direct-hire openings on the day-shift maintenance crew

- Day shift, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, on a Panama schedule: permanent days are Thursday to Saturday or Sunday to Tuesday, with every other Wednesday, so you work 3 days one week and 4 the next

- Train on your permanent shift next to a senior mechanic, not thrown in cold

- Report to the maintenance supervisor on a small, tight crew

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed production equipment to keep the line running

- Diagnose mechanical and quality issues by hand and by eye, then fix them fast to cut downtime

- Work to close tolerances using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and other precision tools

- Read blueprints, drawings, and equipment manuals

- Follow 5S workplace organization and document quality checks

- Stand for a 12-hour shift and lift up to 50 lbs

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

- 2 to 3 years of mechanical or maintenance experience in manufacturing (a strong 1-year candidate with real mechanical aptitude will still get a look)

- Hands-on troubleshooting without leaning on PLC panels

- Comfort with precision measurement and shop math; you will take an on-site multiple-choice mechanics test covering measurements, fractions, math, and logic (calculator and scratch paper provided)

- High school diploma, GED, or HSED

- Able to work the day-shift Panama schedule, stand 12 hours, and lift 50 lbs

- Own and furnish your standard hand tools once hired

Bonus Points:

- Background in packaging, printing, food and beverage, or other high-speed manufacturing

- Experience on high-speed machinery, or as an auto, aircraft, or military mechanic

- Any exposure to proprietary or older production equipment

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Pay: $33.12/hour plus shift premiums (crew and bracket premiums add roughly $1.00 to $1.11/hour)

Sign-On Bonus: $2,000 graduated sign-on bonus

Raises: Automatic every 6 months (May and November), based on time with the company, not performance reviews

Overtime: Available, plus shift differential

Schedule: Day shift, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Panama rotation (3 to 4 days per week), fully on-site

Pay Cycle: Bi-weekly
