Details 12-hour day shift schedule (0700-1900), 36 hours per week Medical/Surgical unit with overflow census of 8 beds General medical patient population with some cardiac, pneumonia, UTI, chest pain, and fluid overload cases RN to patient ratio of 1:4, CNA to patient ratio of 1:8 Cardiac telemetry monitoring on the unit with RNs responsible for reading and interpreting strips No monitors located in patient rooms EPIC EMR used Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing system CNA support for vitals, blood glucose checks, and ADLs Charge nurse typically floats but may occasionally take a full assignment 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage available Peripheral blood draws performed by phlebotomy; RNs start their own IVs Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required No on-call or call-back requirements Floating required to Rehab, 4 Ardmore, 10 Reynolds, 9 Reynolds, 5 Ardmore, Burn-10 North, and Throughput Unit Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent core RN experience in unit specialty area required Travel experience preferred Skills required in PCA management, surgical drains, wound care, and cardiac telemetry/rhythm interpretation Comfort with or willingness to learn Cardizem/Amiodarone drip administration EPIC EMR experience required Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN Additional Information Provide direct nursing care for general medical/surgical patients with telemetry monitoring needs Work within a Level 1 Trauma, academic teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designation Unit culture described as friendly and academic Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 2 days of departmental orientation Royal blue scrub color required Free parking available on-site Clinical interview required prior to placement Travelers required to work 75% of designated holidays Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position First-time travelers considered with preference for candidates who have prior travel experience American Traveler Job ID P-731873.
