About This Role

Future Leaders of Excellence is seeking a dependable, caring, and confident Lead Childcare Teacher to guide a classroom of young learners in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. The Lead Teacher will take ownership of daily classroom operations, support children's development, and create engaging learning experiences that encourage children to learn, explore, and grow.

This role is ideal for an educator who enjoys building meaningful relationships with children and families, works well with a team, and is ready to take on classroom leadership responsibilities.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily classroom activities, routines, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Provide active supervision and positive guidance throughout the school day.
• Monitor children's progress and adjust activities to support individual learning needs.
• Work closely with assistant teachers to maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations.
• Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Follow Tennessee childcare licensing standards, safety procedures, and FLOE policies.
• Maintain appropriate classroom documentation and developmental records.
• Participate in staff meetings, required training, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must meet applicable Tennessee childcare licensing requirements.
• Previous childcare, preschool, or early learning experience preferred.
• Ability to work full-time in an active classroom environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, dependability, and organizational skills.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks, screenings, and compliance training.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds as needed.
• Ability to actively participate in classroom activities, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor with children.

Nice To Haves

• CDA credential or other recognized early childhood education certification.
• TCC or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience leading a classroom or mentoring assistant teachers.
• Knowledge of lesson planning, developmental milestones, and early learning practices.
• Experience working in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Experience supporting children with diverse developmental and learning needs.
